FEATURE: SYUKRAN MAKES WIRA COMEBACK

 Ahmad Syukran Aizat's riding career takes a step forward as Suzuki FortyOne Racing announced the Terengganu born rider will make a return to the WIRA class in the seventh round of the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Kluang, Johor this 22 to 23 September.

Team manager, Nor Azlan Amran explained Syukran earned the opportunity to compete in the open-make class following a strong performance in the newly-introduced Suzuki Belang Challenge where the 15-year old  currently enjoys a flawless run winning the first four legs this season, putting him firmly in charge of the one make overall standings.

Additionally, Syukran's comeback to the WIRA class acts as an early-preparation before he competes in the open-make categories full season next year.

"Although Syukran is no stranger to the open-make, he did not fare too well in his debut last season. Hence we requested him to just focus on the Suzuki one-make this year to build his confidence. Our efforts proved fruitful as he delivered an impressive performance in the one-make category with a streak of wins and is currently in lead of the Championship standings," said Azlan.

He went on to add, "Based on that, the team management decided that it's best to develop his career further by placing him in the WIRA class again. We are certain competing on a level-playing field will bring a positive impact on Syukran's development as a whole and hopefully someday he can bring back the Suzuki heydays."

Meanwhile, Syukran looks forward to his comeback full with optimism, "I'm stronger now and I can't wait to race in the WIRA category again. The riders this season are very fast with the frontrunners such as Mohd Hafiz Nor Azman and Fakrusy Syakirin Rostam being able to record lap times similar to that of the CP115 riders. It will be very interesting to see how my experience in the Suzuki Belang Challenge can help me this weekend in Kluang," he said.
