AFFENDI NOT CONTENT WITH PACE2 August 2010Not at peace with his performance thus far, CP130 rider Md Affendi Rosli is determined to search for his first winning podium in the next leg of the Cub prix Championship set to take place in Perak this weekend. The past five rounds has been a sour experience for the Harian Metro SCK Honda Racing rider. Having just getting used to a Honda machine, Affendi failed to pick up points from the kick off leg in Alor Setar. He then went on to be consistent and picked up 10 points for the next two races in Kluang, Johor (Round 2) and Batu Kawan, Penang (Round 3). Unfortunately, come Round 4 at the Sepang International Circuit (North), Affendi received his first DNF for the season due to mechanical complications but was able to make up for the loss in the following round which took place in Kuala Terengganu (Round 6) completing the race in 10th place (6 points). As of now, the 24 years old holds ninth placing in the CP130 overall standings with 26 points- a 52 point gap from teammate and closest rival, Norizman Ismail in third place with 78 points and according to Affendi, part of the reason his results are poor was due to his failure to provide relevant feedback with regards to the bike setup after every free and timed practice session."Honda bikes possess massive potential and Norizman has proven this by winning Round 3 and Round 4 consecutively. But in order to achieve this, a rider needs to provide feedback to the team mechanics on how the bike reacts on the track and this here is my problem. The response I gave is not good enough and this slows down bike development- simultaneously affecting performance on the track," he said.Nevertheless, Affendi who hails from Teluk Intan is positive he will be able to solve this issue for the upcoming race to which he aims to bag his first winning podium because his bike is now on par with teammate's, Norizman."After running some tests, my bike is now on the same level as Norizman and my target for the next round is to bag the chequered flag. No doubt it will be an uphill task because the front runners have progressed so much in terms of riding skills and bike setup. But I strongly believe it is possible because the track layout has a lot of straights-an area Honda bikes has proven to be excellent at. Furthermore I will be racing in my hometown and this adds on to my fighting spirit. I will try my best to pick up the pace next weekend, deliver results for the team and not fail family and supporters who will be there."Currently leading the CP130 standings would be Ahmad Fazli Sham of Shell Advance Yamaha with 101 points followed by veteran rider, Ahmad Fuad Baharudin of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha AHM Racing second with 79 points.Issued by: Global PR Sdn BhdCopyright to: Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd
