WHO'S TURN TO CONQUER CP115 TITLE?
24 March 2011

Everyone will have their own prediction for the 2011 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship new season but all of us know that racing is an unpredictable game. Just take a look at last season, we thought that the more experience riders namely Mohd Iskandar Raduan and Mohd Adli Salihin will dominate the races but it was rookie, Mohd Ramdan Mohd Rosli who stole the limelight and exceeded everyone's expectation by clinching the 2010 CP115 title.

This season, Ramdan will not stay put in CP115 category to defend his title but he will race with the big guns in the CP130 category.  Besides Ramdan, Mohd Iskandar Raduan who finished third overall, Mohd Farid Ahmad (12th overall), Elly Idzliakmail Ilias (21st overall) and Ridwan Bakri (24th overall) will also participates in the CP130 category.

With these few riders moving to a different category, it seems that Motul Yamaha YY Pang riders namely Mohd Rozaiman Mohd Said, Mohd Adli Salihin, Zaidy Mohd Zaifaizal and Azhar Abdul Jalil stand a bright chance to rule this season.

But this is only a guessing game.

Last year's top-15 riders are still in the game. Shahril Izzuwan Mohd Noor, Mohd Rozaliman Zakaria, Mohd Hafieenaz Mohd Ali, Mohd Firdaus Musa, Ahmad Abdul Kadir, Abdul Haffiz Rashid and Sasitharen Sukumaran will be there to fight for the Championship title as well.

However a number of rookies will be moving up to CP115 category and is ready to take up the challenge. To name a few top riders from Wira category that will be making their very debut appearance are Azhar, Mohd Fitri Ashraf Razali and Mohd Syawalludin Mohd Zaki. Even Yamaha 135LC Challenge 2010 Champion, Tengku Amirul Haffiruddin and Honda icon rider, Mohd Afiq Rahmat will join the big guys too.

Therefore, with such a mixture in the 2011 riders' line-up make things more exciting and unpredictable. Not to forget, Mohd Emir Firdaus Hassan who has been racing in the premier category for two years will be racing in the CP115 category as well.

All in there will be 34 riders representing their team respectively and the number of riders is set to scale up as the current figure does not reflect on the privateers participation. Be it 34 or 43 riders there is only one spot for the champion and at the moment, that slot is wide open.

Those who are aiming for the one and only very much desire position must not only count on their luck or machine set-up but also the power of determination, fighting spirit, mentally and physically strong and also race strategy play an important role.
